My Soul Is in a Hurry: A Hobbit's Life to Change the World
ANALYSIS by MASSIMILIANO CIOTOLA

During Comicon Napoli 2026, the documentary “My Soul is in a Hurry” was premiered, dedicated to the moving story of Nicolas Gentile, the Abruzzo pastry chef who decided to dedicate his life to living like a Hobbit.

During Peter Jackson's meeting with the audience at Cannes, a man in the audience, dressed in a rather peculiar way, stood up and, with a visibly emotional voice, thanked the director, along with J.R.R. Tolkien, for essentially saving his life. The images went viral, but this man who showed up at Cannes dressed as a Hobbit from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is certainly no stranger to it. His name is Nicolas Gentile, and he has a dream.
